At Golden Quality Industrial we do not rent — we manufacture, supply and sell. Even so, the first question we ask a caller is: "How many months a year will you actually run this machine?" Because sometimes the honest answer is renting suits you better — and we would rather say so than sell a unit that sits in a yard eleven months of the year.
The simple arithmetic
Take the monthly hire rate in the market and multiply it by the months you will genuinely operate. Compare that with the annual cost of ownership (purchase price divided by expected service life, plus maintenance, insurance and operator).
- Under 4 operating months a year: hire is usually cheaper. Do not buy.
- 4 to 7 months: a grey zone — decided by whether an extended contract is coming.
- Over 7 months, or a contract of a year or more: ownership wins clearly, and typically recovers the difference in the first or second year.
Five things the comparison table does not show
1. Availability at peak
During utility and municipal project seasons, specialised machines vanish from the hire market — especially 46 kV insulated platforms. A contractor who owns his unit does not stop because the market ran dry.
2. Tender compliance
In Unified Contract and municipal work the tender defines the specification precisely. Whatever the hire yard happens to have may not meet the clause; a machine built to your specification meets it item by item because it was built to.
3. Your livery on the road
A machine in your colours on a client's site is free daily marketing. A hired machine carries someone else's name.
4. An asset on your books
An owned machine depreciates on your balance sheet and holds resale value. Hire is an expense that leaves and never returns.
5. Machine condition
A hire unit passes through dozens of operators a year. Yours is run by your crew alone, on a maintenance schedule you set.
When we will tell you to rent
If you have a single short project, need an exceptional working height once and never again, or are still trialling a machine type before committing. Tell us and we will say so plainly — and we will still be here when ownership becomes the right call.
And if ownership is the decision?
We build the machine to your specification: the chassis you choose or your existing truck, the size and payload you need, paint in your corporate livery, reflective marking and bumpers to Saudi traffic regulations, a 12-month warranty from delivery, and spares and technical support for the working life of the unit. Delivery is from our Riyadh warehouse or to your site anywhere in the Kingdom.
